Spring 2026 Writer-in-Residence, Our Word
Columbia University School of the Arts

Poet, collective trauma facilitator, and Columbia MFA alum Antoinette Cooper invites writers to bring what they have been composting without knowing it: a difficult year, the constrained voice, stories that may have been exiled. Drawing on her literary practice, the poems in UNRULY (Legacy Book Press, 2025), and her work with somatic frameworks, Cooper guides writers through a process of descent and return.

We write with the compost. We do not write around it.

To attend, email writing@columbia.edu. Registration closes Monday, May 4 at 12pm.
Registered attendees will receive a QR code and must present a government-issued ID to access campus.
